I’m Lauri Carpentier. A Belgian writer, translator and proofreader, though I like the term ‘word weaver’. Sounds more poetic, wouldn’t you agree?

A I’ve always known the written word was entirely my thing. A loom of language lives in my head, allowing me to spin tapestries of signs and sounds.

Language is inseparable from who we are and how we see the world. But effective communication is a daily challenge.

It is an art to which I have dedicated my life.

With a Masters in Multilingual Communications and Modern Comparative Literature for Dutch, English and Italian, I backed up my innate love for the written word with the necessary academic experience.

I have been building up my translation and proofreading experience since 2020, and started publishing my own work on Substack and Medium in 2025.
