Hi, I’m Lauri! A self-proclaimed life-long bookworm as well as a writer, translator and proofreader. I was born in Belgium and that is where you can still find me today, though I do have a tendency to roam.

And what can I say? I’ve always known the written word was entirely my thing. Numbers gave me the shivers from a very young age and so I dedicated myself to studying languages.

Language is culture, art and philosophy. It is inseparable from who we are and how we see the world.

To know what makes for effective communication, to use language to call to action or reduce to tears, is an art I have dedicated my life to.

With a Masters in Multilingual Communications and Modern Comparative Literature for Dutch, English and Italian, I backed up my innate love for the written word with the academic training needed to produce engaging original pieces and faithful and idiomatic translations.

Since 2020, I have been building up my experience as a freelance translator and proofreader, and have added publications of my original work via Substack and Medium to that list since 2025.

My passion for making your texts, as well as my own, shine always makes me keen on digging into new topics and exploring the boundaries of creativity to foster connections and mutual understanding.
